MUSICAL ADVENTURES North Salt Lake, UT 84054
Musical Adventures is located in North Salt Lake and has provided musical adventures all over the intermountain area, much of Utah and parts of Idaho over the past 25 years known as NICE N EASY MUSIC.
NICE N EASY started in 1979 in Price, Utah where Gardell H Grundvig and John R Edison the 3rd met and began doing music together. Gardell done vocals and played the guitar while John but played the organ and done vocals. Bass players, drummers, vocalists and other musicians came and went however Gardell and John stayed together.
John move to Bountiful, Utah around 1984 and Gardell moved to Moab, Utah however both still played at time but the distance apart made it difficult. Gardell moved to Orangeville, Utah in 1986 and then to Syracuse, Utah in 1988. Syracuse and Bountiful were close enough that the duo where back together making music for anyone that would listen.
As a band NICE N EASY has played from Blanding and Moab in southern Utah to Vernal and Park City on the east. Reaching Tooele area on the west and extending to Mud Lake Idaho going north. Many cities in between these parameters include Price, Provo and Orem area, Salt Lake Valley, Ogden area and Brigham City. To highlight just a few places or types of establishments were: single adult dance, Apollo dance hall, Red Flame. Elks Clubs, St. Olaf's, Relays for Life, Friendship Center, Parks, Reunions, Parades, Fair Grounds, Wedding Centers (indoors and out), E-Center and more.
In the early 2000s NICE N EASY began to expand into Karaoke and DJ events to help offset the decline in the curtailment of the majority of the singles dances. This new adventure took off so well that practicing the guitar and the organ were replaced with concentration on vocals and other activities people could get involved with such as the limbo, hula hoops, contests, sing-a-longs and skits.
Gardell and John have had a lot of fun in performing together that can’t be only tied to the duo. Adele Edison, John’s wife was always a part of the group singing backup and providing support on and off the stage. NICE N EASY as all have come to know it ended March 29, 2009 when John passed away after fighting a type of strep. John is really missed and the 30 years as a musical group together has ended. Some things like the duets and skits the group done together can no longer happen. NICE N EASY was originally picked to promote the type of music the group wanted to be known for. Lately when John would announce or introduce the groups name NICE N EASY, John would always say he was NICE while Gardell and Adele his wife were EASY.
To honor John in what the group had together for so long, Gardell has chosen to continue on but change the name to MUSICAL ADVENTURES to keep NICE N EASY as the group name.
Gardell is now operating as MUSICAL ADVENTURES and is doing the same activities while focusing in on other things to allow all that request his services the best musical adventure he can offer.
